SSATP is a partnership comprising 41 African countries, 8 regional economic communities, two African institutions (African Union Commission-AUC and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa-UNECA), many public and private national and regional organizations and international development agencies and organizations. Five financing partners (two bilateral agencies – France and Switzerland – and three multilateral agencies – the European Commission, the African Development Bank and the World Bank) support the SSATP on the ongoing Third Development Plan (DP3). Facing a multitude of agencies and an even larger number of stakeholders, SSATP has reviewed the existing initiatives that cover activities under the DP3 Pillars (Regional Integration, Urban Transport and Mobility and Road Safety) to ensure consistency and proper coordination with other agencies and to avoid duplication of efforts. An Excel-based (Visual Basic for Application) compilation of the initiatives has been developed with the objective of outlining synergies and keep track of existing activities in the region. Please click on the initiatives on the dropdown menu below these lines to get information about the activities and domains they focus on, the scope and Organizations behind them.
