This Resource Guide on Mainstreaming Gender in Transport Policies and Projects is based on information from many sources and has benefited from the input of many contributors and reviewers. Financial assistance for the production of the Guide has been from a grant under the Transport and Infrastructure Services Learning and Sharing Partnership (TRISP), a partnership between the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the World Bank, for learning and sharing of knowledge in the fields of transport and rural infrastructure services. The production of the Guide has also benefited from financial assistance from the Sub-Saharan Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP). The SSATP is a joint initiative of the World Bank and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) to facilitate policy development and related capacity building in the transport sector of sub-Saharan Africa.

¹ The GRTI was the idea of Michael Bamberger (formerly World Bank, Social Development Department) and George Banjo which was implemented under the Rural Travel and Transport Program (RTTP) of the SSATP with participation of the Transport Desk of the UN Economic Commission for Africa under funding from the Development Grant Facility of the World Bank. The GRTI was administered by the regional NGO network MWENGO (Executive Secretary, Ezra Mbogori) with Petronella Maramba and Adeline Sibanda as the first and second Technical Advisers.
