SSATP 2013 Annual Meeting & Africa Transport Policy Forum

Dakar Senegal December 10, 2013 - December 11, 2013 Programmatic Events

The Africa Transport Policy Program and the Government of Senegal are pleased to announce that the 2013 Annual Meeting and the first Africa Transport Policy Forum will take place in Dakar, Senegal from December 10-12, 2013

The first Africa Transport Policy Forum will take place on December 10-11, 2013. It is a 2-day learning event that will give participants a unique opportunity to learn about and discuss high-priority transport policy issues in Africa. This event will be open to all interested participants.

After careful consideration of other events in Africa in the transport sector in 2013 and taking account of the focus areas proposed for the Third Development Plan of the SSATP (2014-2018), the Africa Transport Policy Forum would be structured around the following topics:

Day 1: The Sustainability Factor - Towards Clean and Safe Transport in Africa

  • Integrating Transport into the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Towards a Greener, More Inclusive Transport Sector
  • Creating the Proper Environment for Making Roads Safe in Africa

Day 2: Spearheading Transport Policy Reform in Africa

  • Policy Development
  • Evaluating Governance in the Transport Sector
  • Improving Performance through Private Sector Participation

Note: Please be informed that this is a self-sponsored event and therefore, all expenses related to your travel and stay in Dakar will not be covered by the SSATP. However, attendees to the Annual Meeting should have received a personalized invitation from the SSATP.
