Where We Work
With the ultimate goal of ensuring all Africans have access to, and are served by, safe, sustainable and reliable transport systems, SSATP supports its 43 member countries with achieving just that. SSATP members include:
Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The Federal Republic of Somalia is the latest country to join SSATP, during the Annual General Assembly held in Cotonou, Benin, on March 27, 2025.
The impressive growth in the number of African countries signing up and committing to SSATP membership validates the Program’s value proposition, garnering deep respect among the transport community as a powerful instrument for convening and sensitizing Africa’s transport leaders and decision makers.
Want to be a Member Country?
To become a member country and participate in SSATP's Annual General Assembly, national governments are requested to:
1. Officially state their intention to become an SSATP member country.
2. Commit to work towards the achievement of SSATP’s Third Development Plan goals.
3. Help carry out SSATP’s mandate.
