Where We Work

Paving the way for sustainable transport in 42 African countries

With the ultimate goal of ensuring all Africans have access to, and are served by, safe, sustainable and reliable transport systems, SSATP supports its 42 member countries with achieving just that. SSATP members include:

Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Djibouti recently joined as a member country at SSATP's Annual General Assembly held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe on November 29, 2019.

The impressive growth in the number of African countries signing up and committing to SSATP membership validates the Program’s value proposition, garnering deep respect among the transport community as a powerful instrument for convening and sensitizing Africa’s transport leaders and decision makers.
