Where We Work
With the ultimate goal of ensuring all Africans have access to, and are served by, safe, sustainable and reliable transport systems, SSATP supports its 44 member countries with achieving just that. SSATP members include:
Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The most recent countries to join SSATP are the Federal Republic of Somalia, admitted by the General Assembly during the Annual General Assembly held in Cotonou, Benin, on March 27, 2025, and São Tomé and Príncipe, approved by the SSATP Executive Committee later that year, following an official request submitted on August 15, as the program's 44th member country.
The impressive growth in the number of African countries signing up and committing to SSATP membership validates the Program’s value proposition, garnering deep respect among the transport community as a powerful instrument for convening and sensitizing Africa’s transport leaders and decision makers.
