Smart-cards

Smart-cards are the basis of modern electronic ticketing. They are cards with an embedded chip that can hold data securely and participate in fare transactions. They are also known as “chip cards” or “integrated circuit cards”. Smart-cards are normally credit-card sized, and made from flexible or rigid plastic.
