This presentation entitled 'Safe Vehicles in Africa: A Pressing Need for Action' was made by Martin Small at SSATP's Annual General Meeting in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The presentation posits that Africa is exposed through a lack of vehicle safety regulation. While improved vehicle roadworthiness is good, it is not as good as improved vehicle safety technology and regulation. Mr. Small argues that Africa needs to shift towards restricting the entry of sub-standard used (and new) vehicles, and impelmenting vehicle safety policies that are relevant for Africa.
