The SSATP Corridor Program is a subset of the SSATP Regional Integration Component, aiming mainly at establishing transport observatories on several Sub-Sahara Africa corridors. This program was launched mid 2011, and is covering a period of two years, until June 2013. Most of the activities planned in the program had been launched by the beginning of the year 2012, and the time was ripe to review the status of the various monitoring exercises and surveys conducted so far in order to incorporate lessons learnt in the program.

Following the September National validation workshops in each CCTTFA member country to review, adjust and finalize the protocols, this Regional workshop aim at reviewing and confirming the final versions of the protocols. A meeting of the CCTTFA Board will follow in November in order to consider the draft protocols and the amendments to the Agreement and effect any necessary adjustments.

SSATP held a seminar on urban transport, which took place the day after concluding the CODATU Conference (October 22-25, 2012) on the theme of “The role of urban mobility in (re)shaping cities”. The objective of the meeting was to reach a consensus and a common understanding on urban transport policy issues related to mobility and accessibility in sub-Saharan Africa, and to provide a strategic vision for the proposed SSATP Third Development Program (DP3 2014-2017). The participants represented central governments, local governments, transport institutions, the

SSATP Road Safety Program hosted the workshop entitled "Steps to the Five Pillars of Road Safety" on November 19, 2012 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The workshop focused on road safety management, the establishment of road safety agencies, and the development of results-oriented action plans.

SSATP sponsored a paper entitled "Progress on Commercialized Road Management in Sub-Saharan Africa" that was presented at the 6th Africa Transport Technology Transfer (T2) Conference. It served as a platform to disseminate the findings of study, which assesses progress on road management practices in Sub-Saharan Africa and the framework for assessing the performance of commercialized road management in the continent.

In collaboration with the Federation of East and Southern African Road Transport Associations (FESARTA), SSATP co-organized a Regional Economic Communities Transport Coordination Committee (REC-TCC) Meeting during the Africa Road Transport Forum held in Johannesburg, South Africa on April 15-16, 2013.

On April 23, 2013 at the Seventh Regional Environmental Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Asia, SSATP participated in a panel discussion on "Building Resilient Community through EST Measures (policies, programmes, infrastructure).

The Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination Authority's (NCTTCA) Transport Policy and Planning Committee gathered on April 29-May 1, 2013. Thereafter, the Customs and Trade Facilitation Committee convened on May 2-3, 2013. During these meetings, SSATP presented its findings from border crossing surveys and road transport industry surveys in order to prepare recommendations for the TTCA Board.
