The presentation entitled “Road Funds in Africa: Comparative Experiences” was delivered by Stephen Brushett, World Bank Senior Transport Specialist, at the Road Fund Association in Libreville, Gabon.  It provides an overview of: (i) accepted principles and practices in road fund management, (ii) anticipated results and outcomes to date, (iii) challenges encountered on the ground, and (iv) institutional and financial challenges for road funds in Africa.

This presentation provides an overview the Rural Travel and Transport Program (RTTP), which supports the development of national rural transport policies and strategies to:

• improve the planning, financing and maintenance of rural transport infrastructure
• encourage the provision of motorized and non-motorized rural transport services to move people and goods
• promote the use of least cost methods, local resources and small-scale local contractors

Delivered by Yonas Mchowu, World Bank Senior  Transport Specialist, on November 26, 2019 at SSATP's Annual General Meeting in Victoria Falls, this presentation provides an overview of the Dar Es Salaam BRT System implementation project and associated challenges . It depicts the different the BRT construction phases, the public transport ridership Forecast from 2018 to 2030, the Public Private Partnership (PPP) structure for full BRT operation, and challenges arising from this project.

This presentation entitled 'Measuring Progress Against the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and an Implementation of the New Urban Agenda' was made by Debashish Bhattacharjee and Stefanie Holzwarth from UN Habitat at the 2019 SSATP Annual General Meeting in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

This presentation provides an overview of the Tripartite Transport and Transit Facilitation Programme (TTTFP), including its policy goal, strategy, methodology, enabling laws and regulations, operating standards and related systems. It also presents a history of completed TTTFP activities and what remains to be done to operationalize the regional road transport market East and Southern Africa.

This presentation entitled 'Digitilisation of Transport Documents: An Enabler of Improved Road Governance and Corridor Performance' was made at the SSATP Annual General Meeting in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. It gives an overview of the current situation, riddled with inefficiencies, high costs, delays and duplications. It promotes the use of integrated road transport data and records for managing all the base components of freight logistics.

This presentation entitled 'Truck Monitoring by GPS for Corridor Transport Observatories' was made at the SSATP Annual General Meeting in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. It presents the proof of concept for leveraging GPSs for truck monitoring in East and South Africa. The presentation posits that data is good, but that it needs to be interpreted to support advocacy. It ends with lessons and challenges to ensuring the financial sustainability of the truck monitoring system.

It acknowledges that the global mobility system is off track; however, the Sum4All partnership initiative can help countries leverage transport to transform lives.
