Resources
All Reports and Synthesis Reports of the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) of the US Transportation Research Board (TRB) can be downloaded as pdf files at www.trb.org/tcrp
Despite more than two decades of very extensive and structured European Commission supported research in ITS (previously ‘telematics’) and in passenger transportation during the period, there is no comparable repository of European reports and research results. Outputs from the projects of the various Framework Programs going back to about 1996 can be found at the CORDIS website. This is structured by projects rather than by topic, requiring the user to first become familiar with the projects of potential relevance. which is rather user-unfriendly. The website is http://cordis.europa.eu/
European Case Studies on a wide range of transit topics, including ITS, are compiled by the ELTIS program, www.eltis.org
The U.S. ITS Joint Program Office ITS Costs Database is located at http://www.itscosts.its.dot.gov
US National ITS Architecture is published at http://www.iteris.com/itsarch/
This website also contains detailed technical information and guidance on how to use it.
The European ITS System Architecture is called FRAME. It is published at:
The Data Model TRANSMODEL is published at:
http://www.transmodel.org/en/cadre1.html
Another ITS Toolkit has been developed by the EU 2Decide project. It is free to use, but requires users to register. It is located at http://www.its-toolkit.eu/2decide//node/44
