Planning Context

Description / objective

The development of an urban passenger transport system should, ideally, be set within a planning context that recognizes the inter-relationship between land use and transport demand. This context needs also to recognize the transport needs of goods as well as of people, and the level of policy focus on transit oriented development for personal mobility.

This context would be captured within an integrated urban land use and transport master plan – and a passenger transport plan for this sub-set of the urban master plan.
