Group fares

Many urban passenger transport systems in developed countries offer discounts for group travel, particularly outside of peak travel hours, though these are less common in developing countries. These may be applicable to families making leisure trips, for example, or to groups such as sport teams or organized tourists.

The justification for the fares reduction is capturing patronage at times of surplus operating capacity, and the reduced sales administration.
